Risk can be defined as a combination of the probability of occurrence of harm and the severity of that harm. Risk assessment can be applied to personnel, property, environmental and societal events and their consequences. Reactively evaluating risk and dealing with the consequences through a variety of proactive approach to reducing risk through the use of a defined risk assessment and solution implementation process.
