SBP 002 – E-Stop Application Guide

Developed by the CEMA Engineering Conference Conveyor Safety Committee, the guide is intended to be used in conjunction with ASME B20.1, and outlines clear objectives for stopping hazardous motion quickly and safely without introducing additional risks. It establishes common E-Stop guidelines applicable to all conveyors, then provides specific requirements for unit handling conveyors and bulk handling conveyors, including placement distances, accessible areas, pull-cord applications, and interlocking between control zones.
